Ward 5 Urban

Highlights

The urban core of Ward 5 spans across a large swath of downtown, and includes many exciting projects and plans for the future.

West Street Market

The new West Street Market is downtown Reno’s most anticipated addition this summer! Artists, entertainment and eco-friendly themes make this indoor/outdoor urban market more than just fresh, delicious food. Street Markets will "pop-up" on West Street this summer with three markets each week.

EcoMarket Wednesdays
Nevada EcoNet is producing eco-themed markets featuring many of the same fabulous vendors, education and entertainment from its signature Earth Day Celebration. Wednesdays, July 9- Sept. 24, 5-9 p.m.

Artisan Fridays
Holland Project is producing artisan-themed markets on Friday evenings, July 12-Sept. 12, 5-9 p.m.

Farmers & Chefs Market
Saturday mornings, July 12-Sept. 27, 9 a.m.-2p.m.

Wingfield Park

Wingfield Park is comprised of five parks: Wingfield Park (East Island), Brick Park, Bennett Park, Wingfield Park (West Island) and Bicentennial Park. Within these parks you can find picnic shelters, barbeque, basketball courts, an ampitheater, pathways and the Truckee River. It's a great place to relax if you're in the downtown area.

Truckee Riverwalk

A good portion of the retail riverfront is in Ward 5, and I'm proud to be a frequent patron of the 'walk. I've witnessed the transformation of this neighborhood firsthand during the past 5 years and hope to work closely with the downtown businesses in Ward 5 to continue the transformation and prosperity of downtown.
